Trust Center now supports a dedicated Insert Document Link option in the editor that generates stable, persistent download links for documents such as policy PDFs, data processing agreements, and certifications.
Previously, document links added in the Trust Center editor were temporary and could stop working over time — requiring administrators to manually refresh or replace them. This update replaces temporary links with permanent ones that remain accessible indefinitely, with no ongoing maintenance required.
|
Before
Document links were temporary and could expire or stop working after a period of time, breaking access for visitors.
|
After
Document links are permanent and stable. They remain accessible at all times and require no manual refreshing.

- Log in to your TrustArc account and navigate to Trust Center.
- Open the page where you want to add the document download link.
- Click Edit or open the page editor to enter editing mode.
- Within the editor, click the section where you want to add the document link, or click Add Section to create a new one.
- The Add Policy Section dialog opens. It contains:
- A language selector at the top (English Primary and additional language tabs)
- A Show In Navigation toggle
- A Title field
- A Content rich text editor with a toolbar
- Enter a Title for the section if required.
- Click inside the Content field to place your cursor where the document link should appear.
- In the Content toolbar, locate the Insert Document Link button. It appears in the right portion of the toolbar — hover over it to confirm the tooltip reads Insert Document Link.
- Click the Insert Document Link button. A document picker dialog opens.
- Select the document you want to link from the available list, or search for it by name.
- Confirm the selection. The document link is inserted into the Content field at the cursor position.
- Review the section content to confirm the document link appears correctly.
- Click Save to save the section.
- If the page is ready to go live, click Publish to make the change visible to Trust Center visitors.
After publishing, verify that the link works correctly:
- Open your Trust Center as a visitor — use an incognito/private browser window or a visitor account to avoid cached admin sessions.
- Navigate to the page and section where you added the link.
- Click the document link and confirm that the document downloads or opens as expected.
- Verify the link resolves correctly without any redirect errors or expired-link messages.
If your Trust Center is configured for multiple languages, document links must be added to each language version of the section independently. The Add Policy Section dialog provides tabs for each configured language.
- After inserting the document link in the English (Primary) tab, click the tab for each additional language.
- Repeat Step 3 for each language tab — inserting the appropriate document for each language.
- Save and publish when all language versions are complete.
| Issue | Resolution |
|---|---|
| Insert Document Link button not visible in toolbar | Confirm you are in editing mode and have clicked inside the Content field. The button only appears when the cursor is active in the content area. If still not visible, check that your user role has Editor or Administrator permissions. |
| The document I need is not in the picker | The document must be uploaded to Trust Center before it can be linked. Navigate to your Trust Center document library, upload the file, then return to the editor and try again. |
| Link appears broken immediately after saving | Ensure you have published the page, not just saved it. Saved-but-unpublished content is not visible to visitors. If published and still broken, try clearing browser cache or testing in a private window. |
| Visitor receives an expired or access denied error | This can occur if the source document has been deleted or moved within TrustArc. Verify the document still exists in your document library. If it was deleted, re-upload it and re-insert the link using Step 3. |
| Need to replace a document behind an existing link | If the system supports document versioning, update the source document in your TrustArc document library — the link remains stable. If you must upload a new file, delete the old link and insert a new one using Step 3. |
