Associating Tag Groups with entities

Overview

To add a custom tag field to an entity — Assessment or User — you must associate a Tag Group with that entity type. Once the association is created, the system automatically adds the tag field to the corresponding editing pages.

📋 Note: You must have Administrator Role privileges, as defined on the Add User page, to perform this task.
Associating a Tag Group with an Entity
1
Navigate to Admin (1) > Tags (2) > Associations (3).
Admin navigation showing the path to Tags and Associations
2
Click New Association (4). The Associate screen appears.

3
Complete the fields on the Associate screen.
Application (5) — Select the application that corresponds to your Tag Group type. For a Pick List Tag Group, select Assessment Manager. For a User Tag Group, select Admin or Data Inventory Hub.
Entity (6) — Select the entity type to add the tag field to: Assessment or User.
Tag Group (7) — Select the Tag Group to use for the new field. For example, following the Creating Tag Groups example, select the COUNTRIES Tag Group for the Assessment entity.
Allow Multiple Values (8) — Check this to let users assign more than one tag from the group to a single record. For example, enabling this for the COUNTRIES Tag Group means assessments can be associated with more than one country.
Use for Access Control (9) — Check this to use the association for access control purposes.
4
Click Associate (10).

The system adds the new tag field to the corresponding entity. In this example, the COUNTRIES field is added to all assessments and is available in the Additional Information section on the Create New Assessment and Edit Assessment pages.

📋 Note: The name of the tag field matches the name of the Tag Group. To rename the field, rename the Tag Group.
Removing an Association

To delete an association, click the settings icon to the right of the association's name and select Remove from the context menu. You can also change the association's Allow Multiple Values setting from the same menu.
