Editing the Assessment

Editing an Unpublished Assessment

If you did not publish your assessment, you can always return to the Edit Assessment page later to finish configuring its settings. To edit an open assessment, click its name (1) in the Assessments list.

Alternatively, click the ellipsis () to the right of the assessment record in the list and select Edit from the context menu.

Editing a Published Assessment

Once you have published the assessment to respondents, clicking its name takes you to the Assessment page where you can track respondent answers, remediation of identified issues, completion of associated tasks, and more. Editing an assessment after it reaches a Published state is not as direct, but there are two ways to return to the Edit Assessment page where some settings can still be changed.

The first is by clicking Edit in the context menu, which you can open through the ellipsis button () to the right of the assessment record, as shown in the screenshot above.

The second is by clicking the Edit Assessment button (2) in the top-left corner of the Assessment page, which appears after you open the assessment from the Assessments list.

📋 Note: You must have appropriate privileges to edit an assessment. These can be either system-wide privileges defined by your User Role (such as Admin or Data Privacy Officer), or assessment-specific privileges defined by your Assessment Role (such as Assessment Creator, Approver, or Owner). If your privileges are insufficient, the Edit option will not appear.

The settings available to edit on the Edit Assessment page depend on how far the assessment has progressed. You can read more about the different assessment workflows in the Assessment Manager Workflows section. For example, you can change approvers provided they have not yet started approving the assessment, and you can change respondents if they have not yet submitted their answers.

⚠ Note: Once an assessment reaches the final Approved state, it can no longer be edited.
