Feature Details

Overview

Data Inventory Hub users are able to customize and configure key content standard lists including Data Elements, Processing Purposes, Data Subjects and Data Recipients from the Customization section within the left navigation.

In this release, users will have access to the customization and configuration interface, making it even simpler to create and manage content standard lists.

Users can navigate to the customizations and configurations section by clicking “Data Inventory Hub” from within the left navigation, then “Settings”, then selecting the content standard list type they would like to manage.

Adding a New Content Standard

Users can add a new item to their Data Element, Processing Purpose, Data Subject or Data Recipient content standard lists by clicking the “Add New” icon in the upper right corner, which will trigger a pop-up modal to appear. Once the information on the pop-up modal is complete, users can save the new item to their content standard list.

Unlinking & Hiding & Deleting Content Standards

Users can further manage their content standard lists by unlinking, which means removing the content standard from where it is being used, and hiding any content standards which they would no longer like to appear in drop-down lists throughout the Data Inventory Hub application. Users can opt to delete custom content standards as well.

If a content standard is used by the Data Inventory Hub, a hyperlinked number will appear in the “Linked Records” column.

Once clicked, a pop-up modal will appear showing the user where the content standard is being used. Before hiding or deleting the content standard, users need to remove it from where it is in use by clicking the “X” on each record name listed.

Once removed, users have the option to click the hide or delete icon under the “Actions” column. Users can only delete content standards if they were custom, meaning created by a user/admin within their account. Custom content standards are marked with a “C”.
