After entering all questions and sections, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Auto-Number Questions (1). You must number all questions before you can publish the template.

Select a numbering scheme (2) from the left side of the dialog. The right side shows a live example (3) of how dependent questions will be numbered with the selected scheme.
Sequential — Numbers all questions in a single continuous sequence regardless of nesting.
Expanded — Numbers follow-on questions as sub-items of their parent (e.g. 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2).
Hybrid — A combination of Sequential and Expanded numbering.
📋 Note: For the Expanded and Hybrid schemes, the Continue numbering throughout questionnaire checkbox (4) controls whether question numbers continue across sections or restart from 1 at the beginning of each section.

Click Submit (5) to apply the numbering.
