Editing Custom Data Elements

Overview

Data elements in the Data Mapping & Risk Manager (DMRM) represent the individual types of personal data your organization collects and processes. After creating a data element, you can update its name, category, and risk level at any time to reflect changes in how that data is used or classified.

This article explains how to edit an existing data element in DMRM.

What you can do
Rename an existing data element
Reassign the data element to a different category, or create a new one
Update the risk level to reflect changes in regulatory sensitivity
