Email Tab

In this tab, users can customize the default sender email address set in the IRM portal. You can select any of the following configurations and ensure that the correct credentials are entered in the following fields:

  • Default (@trustarc.com) – This is the default TrustArc email sender.

  • Custom TrustArc Subdomain – Users can add a subdomain as part of the main TrustArc domain name.

Important: Contact TrustArc support team to assist with your custom subdomain verification. Once a subdomain is created, DKIM is set up and verified, you’ll be able to use your subdomain here.
  • External Domain via DKIM – DKIM signing allows for an increase in email security and helps prevent email spoofing.

Important: To enable this setup, contact TrustArc Support to help assist you with the configuration settings.
  • External SMTP – Users can set their own SMTP credentials to replace the default sender email.

Users must provide the following information to set up the SMTP connection:
  •
    • Email – Enter the user’s custom email address.
    • Host – Enter the URL or IP address of the user’s SMTP server.
    • Port – Enter the port where the user’s SMTP server is located.
    • Security Protection – Select from the drop-down either SSL or TLS.
    • Username – Enter the username.
    • Password – Enter the password.

Verify the credentials by clicking the Test SMTP Connection button. To save your credentials, click Save.

  • Unblock Email Address – this allows administrators to unblock data subject emails that have been blocked to send emails from IRM. Data Subjects may request the email server used by IRM (AWS) to stop their email address from receiving any emails from IRM. However, IRM’s customers must be able to send responses to Data Subjects on emails to be able to process the requests. Hence such emails that are blocked by AWS must be unblocked to process the requests.
