Language Settings

In the third step of intake form customization, Admins can provide any browser language detection. If browser language detection is disabled, then the intake form will not detect the individual’s browser language. In this case, the intake form will always be shown in the language selected in the previous settings page.

If browser language detection is enabled, then Admins can specify which languages need to be supported. Translations for 63 languages are supported and Admins can further customize these translations. Labels for any new fields added into the intake form may have to be provided with translations in the Language Settings page before saving the form.

Additionally, admins can enable a language selector in the rendered intake form to allow Data Subjects to switch between supported languages.

When the language selector is enabled:

  • A language selector is displayed in the rendered form.
  • Data Subjects can switch languages at any time.
  • Form content updates dynamically based on the selected language.
  • The default language configured in the Details tab is applied when the form initially loads.

When the language selector is disabled:

  • The rendered form language is determined based on the Data Subject’s browser settings.

NOTE: The selected language is recorded as part of the Data Subject Request (DSR) when the form is submitted.

In the Language Settings tab, users can provide translations for Jurisdictions or Resident of Countries added as an option list.

The translation fields are structured into clearly defined sections such as Form Field Attributes and Jurisdiction. Empty fields default to “Form Language” as the default value.

  • The Form Field Attributes section contains translations related to form fields not associated with error messages.

  • The Jurisdiction section contains translations specific to different countries.

Export Language Translations

You can use the Export button to export translations from the Language Mapping table to a CSV file. Note that the Export button is only enabled when the browser language detection feature is enabled. When you click the Export button, a CSV file will be generated and downloaded to your local system.
