Creating a Standard Business Process Record Template

Overview

Record templates let you define the structure of business process records in Data Mapping & Risk Manager, including custom page layouts, question fields, and associated tags.

Creating a Record Template

From the left side of the page, hover the mouse over the Data Mapping & Risk Manager icon, and then navigate to Settings (1) > Record Templates (2).

In the top-left corner, click Add New.

Complete the following fields, and then click Next (6).

Enter a unique template name and description (3).
Set the Template Type to Type 1 (4).
Select the entities that should have access to the template (5).

Under Setup, enter a unique custom page name.

📋 Note: The name entered in the Custom Page Name field becomes the title of the custom page on any business process record that uses this template.

Drag and drop question field types from the Choose Field Types column onto the main screen.

For each field, complete the following, and then click Save.

Add a custom label or question (7).
Enter a description (8).
If required, add answer choices or options (9).

Use the drag-and-drop icon (10) on any question field to reposition it on the page.

Enable the business process custom page by clicking the Enable Custom Questions Page toggle (11), and then click Next. If this toggle is off, the page will not display within any business process records.

Click the Tags tab and select the tags to associate with the business process record template.

Click Finish.
After Creating the Template

When creating a business process record, you can select the template you just created.

To edit, clone, or delete a template, click the Edit, Clone, or Delete icon in the Action column of the Record Templates page.

When you open a template, click Show all linked business processes or forms to see all business process records and forms associated with it.
