Scheduling Website Scans

Scans are scheduled by TrustArc in consultation with customers. Completed scan reports are available in the Website Monitoring Manager Portal.

Scans are run from either Europe or the US. All scans run for purposes of creating cookie consent for EU regulatory compliance are run out of Europe to ensure TrustArc is capturing the same trackers that
would drop on an EU user.

Scans can be scheduled to recur at regularly defined intervals and can be set up for a deep site scan (from 1000 to 5000 pages) within the domain, limited to certain paths, or to include unique pages depending on the customer’s needs.

For websites requiring user credentials to fully access TrustArc is able to load login credentials for the site as part of setting up the scan so that customers can get insight into tracking and personal information collection occurring on logged-in users. You will need to provide TrustArc with the necessary user credentials.

Once a scan has been initiated a new automated browser instance will start up which has no pre-existing cookies or LSOs. As the browser navigates the website all tracking technologies encountered are recorded including the domains those technologies originate from. Domain redirects are also recorded in order to report on the full chain of redirects that spawned the third party tracker onto the site.
