Display Tab

  • Label – This is a free text field that is mandatory
     
  • Show Label on the form – This allows you to display the form label when rendering the form field.
     
  • Use Latest Data Field Value – When this is enabled, the form will pre-populate the field with the Data Subject’s last submitted value upon rendering.
     
  • Default Value – This defines the initial (default) value of the input field.
     
  • Default Placeholder Text – This is a short description or hint that describes the expected value of an input field.
     
  • Helpful Information Text – Displays a help icon or tooltip next to a form field to provide more information
     
  • Allow multiple selection - Select the checkbox to enable users to select multiple options from the dropdown.

Styling Tab

  • Font – Select the font face from the drop-down menu
     
  • Font Size – Select the size of the font
     
  • Label Text – Select the label text color from the color palette or enter the HEX code
     
  • Form Field Background – Select the form field background from the color palette or enter the HEX code
     
  • Form Field Stroke – Select the form field stroke color from the color palette or enter the HEX code
     
  • Required Field Indicator – Select the required field indicator color from the color palette or enter the HEX code
     
  • Information Icon – Select the information icon color from the color palette or enter the HEX code.
     
  • Option Pills Background – Select the option pills background color from the color palette or enter the HEX code
     
  • Option Pills Text – Select the option pills text color from the color palette or enter the HEX code
     
  • Helpful Information Background – Select the helpful information background color from the color palette or enter the HEX code.
     
  • Helpful Information Text Color – Select the helpful information text color from the color palette or enter the HEX code.
     
  • Helpful Information Text Font – Select the helpful information text font face from the dropdown menu.
     
  • Font Size – Select the size of the helpful information font.
     
  • Reset to default – Erases the custom settings and restores styling to default settings
     
  • Field Preview – Provides a real-time preview of the customized field

Options Tab

  • Add Dropdown Options – This is the list of options that displays when the user clicks on the menu title and allows the user to choose one value from the list.  
     
  • Search Options – This enables the user to search for keywords to easily locate a given value

Validation Tab

  • Number of Selection Limit – Set a maximum selection limit for multi-select dropdown fields.

    When Allow Multiple Selection is enabled, the Maximum Selection Limit option becomes available. By default, the setting is No Limit.

    When a limit is configured, Data Subjects can select options up to the defined maximum. Once the limit is reached, additional options are disabled and form submission is prevented if the limit is exceeded.

    NOTE: This applies to Forms 2.0 and 2.1 and aligns with WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.

Settings Tab

  • Required – This checkbox allows the user to mark the field as a required field
     
  • Hidden – This checkbox allows the user to hide the field
     
  • Read-only – A checkbox that allows "Read-Only"
     
  • PI Data – A checkbox that tags the field as PI Data
     
  • Field UUID – This is a read-only field and is auto-generated once saved
     
  • Data Field – This is a drop-down field with the list of Purposes created from the Data Subject Type page
