Creating Tracker Rules

To create a new tracker rule, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Click the Add Rule button and set a name and description for the rule.

  2. In the Add Rule window, add a Tracker Rule Name and Description (1). You can either identify the tracker by name or using REGEX or Regular Expression (2) . A preview of discovered trackers displays based on the identification criteria.

    • Select one or more (or all) trackers from the Tracker Type dropdown list. Enter the Domain and Tracker Name (3). The Tracker Type(s) and Domain name should match the type of tracker and exact domain name in the scan results in the Discovered Trackers section. The Tracker Name corresponds to the value of the Tracker Type. You can use regular expressions (Regex) to ensure that your rule applies to different scan results that share a common tracker name.

    • Then, choose which Scan and Consent manager the rule should apply to (4). You can also select one or more (or all) consent managers from the dropdown menu. At least one successful scan must have been completed to be able to select that Scan and Consent manager. Please note that the tracker must be present across different Consent Managers for the rule to function properly.

    • You can set the Action (5):

      • Move trackers to another category or vendor
      • Delete trackers and don't show them again on next scan
      • Hide the trackers in the consent manager

    • In the Select Where to Move: Category dropdown list, choose the category where you will move trackers (6).

  1. Click the Preview button to view the categories. Note that when you have multiple Consent Managers in one rule, you will see a dropdown menu in Preview allowing you to preview the result for each instance.

  2. Click Save or click the Save and Apply button.

    • Save - This action applies the changes to all selected CM instances.
    • Save and Apply - This action applies the changes to the currently selected Consent Manager (CM) instance in the Preview section.
