Tracker Rules

The Tracker Rules page enables you to create rules for the generated trackers that are created each time you run a scan. This can help automate certain actions like hiding, deleting, or moving trackers into a category instead of having to do this manually.

You can use Tracker Rules to identify certain trackers and then apply an action to those trackers at the time of the scan job. For example, you may have similar computer generated trackers that always need to be set to a certain category like Functional Cookies. By searching by the tracker name or using a REGEX expression, you can identify these trackers and then automate the execution of the rule when the scan completes.

Sample computer generated trackers:

  • p1se04-clientnsv4.s.akamaihd.net
  • p1se05-clientnsv4.s.akamaihd.net
  • p1se06-clientnsv4.s.akamaihd.net

To access the Tracker Rules page, locate Cookie Consent Manager on your platform navigation panel and click the Setup > Tracker Rules tab.

The Tracker Rules page lists out the rules and allows you to individually enable, disable, or delete the rules. You can select multiple rules and do bulk actions such as bulk delete, bulk enable, and bulk disable. In addition, a search bar is available to allow you to search for tracker rules. Note that searching for the tracker by name should be an exact match.

The Tracker Rules page displays the following columns:

  • Rule Name - This column shows the tracker rule name.
  • Scan - This column shows the list of consent managers.
  • Description - This column shows the description of each tracker rule.
  • Identification - This column shows the identifying criteria.
  • Action - This column shows the action.
  • Last Modified - This column shows the date and time when the tracker rule was last updated.
  • Last Modified User - This column shows the user who last updated the tracker rule.
  • Enable - Select the button to enable each tracker rule.

When you create, edit, enable, disable, or delete a rule, the system shows them in the Activity Log. Additionally, when the rule runs, the system notes it for that Scan and Consent Manager when the scan completes.
