Creating a Processing Purpose

Overview

Processing purposes define the reasons your organization collects and uses personal data — for example, service delivery, marketing, or legal compliance. In the Data Mapping & Risk Manager (DMRM), processing purposes are organized into categories and assigned a risk level to reflect their sensitivity and regulatory implications.

This article explains how to create a new processing purpose in DMRM, including how to set its category, risk level, and visibility.

What you can do
Create a new processing purpose with a custom name and category
Assign a risk level that reflects the purpose's regulatory sensitivity
Control whether the processing purpose is visible for selection across the platform
