Scanning Configurations

  1. In the Scan Automation field, you can set your website scan to automatically re-run on your preferred schedule. Users in a Professional account can select a frequency of every 1 to 12 months while users in a Standard account can select a frequency of every 3 to 12 months.

By default, all new scans are set to Manual Scanning. While the scans will not rerun on their own, you will have the ability to manually initiate new scans at the same cadence described above; every 1 month for a Professional account.

  2. In the Pages to Scan field, select the number of pages to be scanned for each website URL.

  3. Select the Bypass Zero Tracker Load Setup checkbox to allow all trackers to load normally during the website scan. Disabling this feature will scan your website with your existing implementation of your consent manager. Hover your mouse over the information icon for more details.

  4. Select the Enable Custom Header for Whitelisting checkbox to add “allow-trustarc:true” into the header request, which can be used to whitelist TrustArc when scanning your sites.

  5. Select the Enable Crawl Domain Restriction checkbox to block subdomains from being scanned when they are linked to the primary URL being scanned.

Advanced Settings

  1. Click the Advanced Settings button to further set additional operations.

  2. Fill out the information in the Advanced Settings window. Then, click Apply.

  •
    • Scan Engine - Select the location of the scan server used for scanning websites, either Europe or US. If the site has security to prevent crawlers from running, you can whitelist the following IP Addresses: 23.21.51.67, 54.228.197.13, 3.64.98.56, 50.17.226.40.

    • Page Depth - The scanner follows links starting on the first page being scanned and follows links down to the configured page depth.

    • Add Preloaded Cookies - When the scanner runs, it will emulate a browser and drop the following first party cookies with the assigned values. These help trigger certain behavior on the site for scanning purposes.

Scan Behind Login

The Scan Behind Login feature allows for scanning cookies behind websites that require login credentials. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. In the Scan Configurations section, click the Scan Behind Login button.

  2. In the Scan Behind Login window, click the Add button or the Add Login URL button.

  3. Choose the type of login: through Form Login or through HTTP Basic Authentication

    1. Form Login - The login action occurs at the beginning and the system keeps the session until the end of the crawl.

Note: For login actions, make sure to add the logout link pattern in the Exclusion Pattern field so that during the crawl, the session remains logged in.

The Fetched Forms section displays the login forms fetched from login URLs that you added. Only successfully tested forms are added.

    2. HTTP Basic Authentication - It is an authentication process provided and controlled by a browser on the client side. You will see a browser modal window pop-up as soon as you navigate to the login URL if basic authentication is required.

  4. Once the scan details are configured, users can click the Start Scan button. This process may take some time to complete, depending on the number of URLs they wish to scan. The expected wait time is most often 1 hour per URL or less. In the meantime, you can proceed to the Designing Consent Manager page to begin customizing the look and feel of your CM.

  •
    • Scan Status - This field displays the status of the scan. If the scan is paused or failed but has at least one successful URL, CCM displays the Scan Status as “Scan complete with errors.” You will receive an email that contains the error message with a list of failed URL(s). The system automatically marks the scan as successful to allow you to view the crawl results of the successful URLs. If the scan fails and there are no successful URLs, CCM displays the status as “Scan failed.”

    • Date Completed - This field displays the date and time the scan is completed.

    • Next Scan Date - This field displays the schedule of the next scan date if you set up Automatic Scan Automation.

  1. A notification is sent to you via email when the scan is complete. If you have logged out of your account, click Log In Here to log back in.
